1. Ret. FF Roy Chelsen (E-28) Blood & Bone Marrow Drive
On Saturday, September 20th from 10am-3:30pm, at Zion Lutheran Church located on 505 Watchogue Road Staten Island. Roy Chelsen was diagnosed with cancer of the bone marrow and had been in remission until a few weeks ago. His cancer is back and he needs another replacement. 2. Steuben Day Parade
On Saturday, September 20th, at 11:15am members participating shall wear dress uniform and assemble at E. 61st St. & Madison Ave. in Manhattan. Members participating shall wear dress uniform. There will be a coalition to follow at St. Ignatius School Hall on E. 84th St. between Park & Madison Avenues.
3. 3rd Annual Salute to Firefighters
REMINDER: On Thursday, September 25th, 7-11pm, at the Saloon located at 1584 York Ave (btwn. 83rd & 84th St.) presented by Adam's Angels, in memory of FF Adam D. Rand (Squad 288). Honor our fallen heroes and recognize the sacrifices New York's Bravest make everyday. FF tickets: $5, Military/Veterans tickets: $5, tickets for friends: $15 in advance. Tickets include live entertainment, drinks, and more. Proceeds will benefit the FDNY VFW, the Thomas Elsasser Fund, and the Terry Farrell Fund. 4. Healing Garden Dedication
On Friday, September 26th, 11am, at the Staten Island Botanical Garden at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center located at 1000 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY, is dedicating a Healing Garden to the memory of the victims of 9/11. For directions call 718-273-8200.
5. Elsasser One Pitch Tournament
On Friday, October 3rd, 9:30am, Cunningham Park, 73rd Ave (btwn. Francis Lewis Blvd & Clearview Expwy) in Queens. E-221/L-104 will host thier annual tournament with proceeds going to the Thomas Elsasser Widows' & Children Fund for non-line of duty deaths.
